Game Guardian 6.0.0

Have you heard of Game CIH 3.0 Lite before? It could change the amount of in-game cash and even fake a high score. It can also increase/decrease the speed of a game. However, it is only a lite version (which is why it's free), therefore there are certain limitations to the app (e.g. waiting for a few seconds before allowed to change a value and only able to change the speed of a game for a few seconds). No more worries, cause now we have

GameGuardian 6.0.0

This app was released early of this year, was available on Play Store but seems that now it's unavailable. What's so special? It's totally free and has no limitations. Plus, it is less detectable by anti-cheat apps and has a lock function to lock in a value (good to make HP permanently 100%) (The only ad will appear when you want to use lock function, will be explained later). In a nutshell, it is lighter and more customisable than Game CIH.

Changelog:
Version 6.0
-Remove AdMob!!
-Add second state for Fuzzy Search.
-Add size configurations for search operations.

Version 5.6
-Fix speed change functionality in Android 4.1.1.
-Change speed levels.

Version 5.5.1
-Change package name to avoid detection.

Version 5.5.0
-Enhance anti-detection functionality.

Tutorials:
1. Changing Values
Changing values is what you are actually doing when you want to make your, e.g. in-game cash "unlimited'. First, we will learn what the values mean.

GameGuardian can display 3 different values:
1-byte - Ranges from: 0 - 255
2-byte - Ranges from: 0 - 65535
4-byte - Ranges from: 0 - 4294967295

Values Explained:
  • 1-byte (0-255): Games usually use this to define a "Yes" or "No" function, such as "is shooting." (but could be anything else.. is running, is jumping.. etc)
(If you set "is jumping" to 1, character will always be on air, which means it will be flying) 0 = No, 1 = Yes

  • 2-bytes (0 - 65535): Similar to 4-bytes, just that it can't store values as high as 4-bytes.

  • 4-bytes (0 - 4294967295):This is what you are usually looking for. For example, addresses that governs gold, ammo or even lives are usually 4-bytes values.

Steps:
1. Start the GameGuardian app.
2. Press the back button to return to your screen before this.
3. Start your game.
4. Look for the value you want to change, e.g. 29186 (the amount of gold)

5. Click on the transparent GameGuardiuan icon (with a picture of a dog on it, could be anywhere on the screen, the position can be changed, read more) to enter the GameGuardian menu and press the second tab.
6. Press "Search" and type in the number you want to change, e.g. 29186, then press "Search". It will return you with a couple of results, don't worry, read on.

7. Play the game / buy some stuff to change the value of the gold, e.g. now, the value is 29198. Press the transparent icon again and press "Search". Type the new value and "Search" again. It should now return you with one value (if there are still a few, go on changing the value of the gold and do more searches until you get only one result)

8. Long press the address shown and type in any number you want, e.g. 99999

9. The value of gold will change into the number you entered just now.

**This also applies to changing a game level or character level, ammo, number lives and anything related. The steps are almost the same, the key is to look for the number to change (NO Guarantee that you will always succeed, try experimenting)

2. Changing an unknown value
Sometimes you will face situations where you cannot determine the value of something you want to change, e.g. health bar, GameGuardian stills allows you to do so by following the steps below.

1. Start GameGuardian and open the game you want to play.
2. Assuming that you have full health.
3. Click on the transparent GameGuardian icon and select "Fuzzy". You will get a lot of numbers.
4. Get hit a few times to get you health reduced.
5. Open GameGuardian again and press "Smaller" (because your health reduced, if increased, press "Larger".
6. Get hit again.
7. Open GameGuardian and press "Smaller".
8. Get hit another time.
9. Open GameGuardian and press "Smaller".
10. Keep repeating until you get only one value, then change the value by long press on it.

3. Locking a Value
To lock a value, first you must enable the lock function from the home screen once you launch the GameGuardian app.

**Enable data connection or WiFi for this.

1. The home screen should look something like this

2. Click "Enable Lock Function".
3. Wait for the ad banner to appear above, then click on it.
4. Wait for it to load, when "Thanks for your support!" appears, then you can go back and lock function is now enabled.
5. To lock a value, select the address and check "Lock".

Here's a video for further understanding:

4. Changing game speed
1. Launch GameGuardian, then launch the game you want to play.
2. Long press the transparent GameGuardian icon until you see something like this:

3. Click the arrow at the right to increase speed, the one at the left to decrease speed. You can even increase the speed until 1000!

5. Miscellaneous
-Changing the position of the transparent GameGuardian icon
1. Press the transparent icon.
2. Go to the first tab.
3. Press "Set Guardian Location"

4. A blue screen will appear. Place the icon at wherever you want it to be and click on the icon again to exit.
5. Now the position of the icon has changed and will not disrupt gameplay.

-Going straight to an address
If you happen to know the address of the value you want to change, you can go to the fourth tab and key in the address to get there and change the value hassle-free.

-Saving an address
If you single press on an address, you will be prompted to name it and save it, so that you don't need to search for it again in the future. The saved address will appear at the third tab (if you save the address for game A, the saved address will only appear in the third tab when you open game A again)

**To exit GameGuardian, press the "Stop Guardian" option in the first tab. You can also do a lot of other things in the first tab (settings tab), like changing the opacity of the icon and set the vanishing time of the icon.

That's basically all. Hope that you will enjoy the app and feel free to post questions below. I will help wherever I can.

How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Ace (S5830)

samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-root
The Samsung Galaxy Ace is (now) a low-end device that was released in February 2011 and came with features like 3.5-inch touchscreen display, HSDPA network support, an 800MHz processor, and a 5MP camera.  Not bad, but if you want something more from this, rooting, installing ClockworkMod Recovery and flashing a custom ROM is the way to go.  This guide below will help you get that first step out of the way – rooting the Galaxy Ace.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Back up everything you feel is important.
2.  Make sure you have your device charged to 75% or more before you begin.

II.  Necessary Downloads

universal_gb_root_v25.zip [Download link available in this post]

III.  Rooting the Galaxy Ace

1.  Connect your device to your PC in USB Mass Storage Mode and copy the universal_gb_root_v25.zip to your SD card.
2.  Disconnect your device and shut it down.
3.  Press and hold the Home button + Power button and let them once your device boots into recovery mode.
4.  Use the Volume Up and Down keys to highlight to apply update from sdcard and press the home button to select it.
5.  Locate and select universal_gb_root_v25.zip to flash the file.
6.  Once you see the install from sdcard complete message, highlight and select reboot system now.
Your Galaxy Ace should be rooted once it reboots!

XPERIA Z

Sony's mantle as one of the major smartphone manufacturers has slipped a little in recent years, but it still produces some outstanding handsets. The Xperia Z is just such a creature, with a powerful quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera, 4G and a feast of extras.
It's on sale now for around £450.
The price puts it in the high-end category, but the spec more than justifies it. This is a handset for high-flyers and phone fans who like to be ahead of the curve and are prepared to pay for it.
Design
The Xperia Z is not what you'd call a 'convenient' handset though, with a five-inch screen it's a big ol' handful measuring 139x71x8mm. With shatter-proof glass both back and front it's no lightweight either, tipping the scales at 146g. Around the sides is a single large power/sleep button, a wafer-thin volume rocker and dock connectors. Everything else is hidden behind sealed plastic grommets, including microSD and SIM card slots, microUSB port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Xperia Z also makes a virtue of being a tough cookie; it's a rugged phone in a smoothie body. It might be covered in glass, but it's scratch resistant and shatterproof, as well as being water resistant (much like the Xperia Tablet Z). We were able to douse it under the tap and leave it in a filled sink for a couple of minutes with no apparent ill effects -- so it should be able to cope with the general perils of the urban jungle. Sony makes no promises for deserts or mountains but for most day-to-day attacks it should be fine.
Features
That "Reality Screen" is rather lovely though. With a pixel resolution of 1,920x1,080 that boils down to 441 pixels-per-inch (way ahead of the iPhone 5's 326, for instance) and 16 million colours it looks stunning, and it's beautifully sensitive too, responding instantly and accurately to every brush and press -- something you can't always say even for high-end handsets. It has the latest Sony Mobile Bravia Engine to help smooth out video play and we certainly couldn't detect any awkwardness in any of the movies we played.
For such a forward-thinking handset it's a surprise to see the 4.1 version of Android Jelly Bean rather than the very latest 4.2, for which we'll have to wait a little longer. It's not a disaster by any means -- you still get the intuitive Google Now service that punts info at you based on your location and previous choices without the need to search, but it does take the shine off the newness of it a little.
Sony's put its own skin over the top of Android of course, notably with a lock screen that looks like rippling Venetian blinds when you run your thumb over it, and its own distinctive array of shortcut icons and widgets. The unloved Timescape, which pulled together your social networking updates has been removed entirely though, unable to compete with Google's own alerts bar.
Performance
The Xperia Z has 4G LTE capability though you'll need a contract with EE to take full advantage of it (or hold your breath for other networks getting all their 4G ducks in a row later this year). The 1.5GHz quad-core processor is one of the heftiest beasts we've yet seen on a smartphone, and backed by a full 2GB RAM it's a very powerful engine. Our regular AnTuTu performance benchmark test delivered a score of 18,440 -- that's the highest we've yet seen on a handset, defeating quad-core rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (13,619),HTC One X+ (16,157) and Google Nexus 4 (17,903), though the last one at least has the distinction of costing around half as much. In short, this is the fastest smartphone we have ever reviewed.
But whether you're doing 3D gaming, watching a movie or even just listening to music, the Xperia Z does seem to get uncomfortably hot during prolonged use. Battery life isn't great either, and we barely got a full day's steady use out of it with the standard settings. There is however Stamina Mode, which powers down all the phone's functions when the screen goes dim. Good for the battery, but not always so good for communication, though you can customise the settings to leave certain functions on, depending on what you need doing.
Camera quality
Considering the power of the processor, it's a bit of a surprise that the 13.1-megapixel camera takes a good two seconds to start up. Not great for speedy snaps, but once it's up and running, it's a bit of a cracker. As well as Sony's Exmor R sensor, designed to improve the quality of pics taken in low light, features include touch-to-focus, face detection, image stabilisation, high dynamic range (HDR) automation, sweep panorama and GPS geo-tagging. All of that would matter naught if picture quality was sub par, but thankfully, it isn't; picture quality is really very good, even in low light, with sharp edges and realistic colours.
Video quality is up there too, with full HD 1,080p recording at 30fps. Unusually, the HDR setting is also available for video as well as stills, which can add an interesting, other-worldly look to your vids.

NFC and connectivity
Near-field communication (NFC) is on board for wireless payments (when you can find a place that accepts them) and for instant settings changes using Sony Smart Tags, though none seemed to be included in the box. Sony has obviously been thinking about the technology too, and it will work with the latest Sony Bravia TVs -- touch your phone to the TV, and it can be set to mirror what's on the phone wirelessly. If you don't have one of the latest Bravias, your options are more limited, since there's no HDMI port to run HD video direct to your TV.
There's 16GB of memory on board, which offers an adequate bit of room for HD pics and vids, but if you need more, it can carry microSD cards up to 32GB in size.
Conclusion
The Sony Xperia Z is a terrific handset offering (almost) the best of Android plus a terrific screen, very fine camera, super-powerful processor and lots more besides. If you can handle the size and the weight, it's a phone to be proud of, and throws down the gauntlet for the soon-come Samsung Galaxy S4.

TSF Launcher used to give Android a Ubuntu Phone feel [VIDEO]

While we’re waiting for the folks at Ubuntu to bring us the early Galaxy Nexus-compatible images for its mobile operating system, one user decided to throw together the best of both worlds. User Armando Ferreira employed the use of TSF Launcher and several other tools to give his Nexus 4 the Ubuntu Phone look and feel. The lock screen is minimalistic and gives you quick information at a glance. You can pull your favorite apps up with a swipe from the left edge of the display.
The flexibility of TSF Launcher and the other tools used allows every bit of this setup to be customized and manipulated so users can set it up exactly how they want. Directions are forthcoming if there are any of you out there looking to apply this for yourself, but if this just isn’t doing it for you then you’ll have to make sure you have yourself a Galaxy Nexus come February as that is when the real Ubuntu Phone release will be unleashed unto the mobile world. Take a look at this beautiful work above

SS Launcher review

Okay so put aside your political stances guys and gals…this isn’t a far right launcher with Swastickas all over it (get it?…ss….SS??). No, no….this is another launcher replacement for Google’s Android OS.
For those who don’t know, a launcher is another name for the software that is used to allow you to interact with the device. It doesn’t encompass ALL of the areas of your smartphone necessarily, but it’s the glue that holds them all together and allows navigation to different aspects of your phone.
There have been a number of launchers that have been released for Android. Go Launcher EXADW LauncherLauncherPro, and Nova Launcher are just some you could be aware of. Each of those mentioned, attempts to bring a new fluidity to the device onto which it’s installed along with new features not resident (presumably) in the handset’s original launcher.
So before we get started, let’s explore why you would consider installing a new launcher onto your device. The reasons are numerous in fact.
Perhaps the device you have is particularly old and is struggling with the effects on your native launcher? Installing a custom launcher may give the opportunity to disable some of the effects causing the most problems and improve performance. Perhaps, you just want some more customisation and configurability added to your launcher? Some launchers give the option to remove or add a dock, give new Widgets and new graphically enhanced transitions along with many more features to give your experience a nice polished finish. Furthermore, you might be one of the legion of “themers” or “modders” that simply want to stretch the boundaries of home screen customisations.
That’s just a few reasons why you’d want to install such an application.
ssLauncher by developers ChYK, is a launcher with a little difference. Most launchers have some Widgets included, and normally include the ability to add/remove a dock or a home screen as mentioned above. ssLauncher allows you to select these options too, however delivers a number of predefined ‘templates’ which are deployed during installation for ease of use and to throw you straight into the ssLauncher experience. These include a standard home screen with missed calls, text messages and unread email counters. Swiping across the pages you are taken to an applications screen, contacts screen, a Hot! screen (where you can add favourites applications), a standard applications screen (with a twist…more to come on this later), bookmarks, and a credits page.

You are, of course not limited to these screens. All of these can be amended with various widgets and
shortcuts, replaced, or even removed entirely, from the launcher menu.
Editing your screen real estate is as easy as pressing and holding down on an existing widget/shortcut. A popup menu and selection box around the widget/shortcut you selected to edit is displayed with a number of options. You can choose to bring forward/send back in order the widget that’s been selected, as you would in any desktop graphics package or Office suite. You can get quite creative by layering Widgets atop each other.
Other options such as copying and removing are available, alongside ‘Edit’.
The edit function takes you into an edit screen that enables you to choose what type of action you want the widget/shortcut to perform. The actions available are quite substantial.
Launching an application, navigating to another home screen or page, displaying a contact or a bookmark, or adding an activity are all available options. One other option is the very interesting ‘widget’ option. Every launcher allows you to add a new widget right? Well yes, but I have yet to see a launcher to do something as nifty as ssLauncher does with it’s widgets.

The widget option follows the same principle as the other options in that you select a Type (widget, obviously), a Target (What widget do you want to display), configure the Style (what icon will the widget look like; an Icon, some test, or a combination of both) and either Icon/Title attributes depending on the style chosen. Once completed, you will apply the settings at the bottom of the screen and have the “WidgetIcon” or “WidgetText” display on your home screen (see below). What you will immediately see is that the widget itself is not visible. It becomes visible when you click on it, and at that point has all the same interactions as the if the widget had been directly added to the home screen (which is also available by pressing and holding on the home screen as usual).
Cool huh?

The above shows the selection of the Widget launch option, and configuring of the size of the Widget when visible.
The below, as you can see, shows the finished article. A Text block, that when clicked on, displays the Bookmarks widget. Scrolling and tapping functionality continues to work. When using this launcher, I used this technique to create a page full of social media text blocks, that when clicked, displayed their respective widgets (Flipboard, Twitter, Facebook, etc). Very, very neat addition.

The sheer enormity of the settings menu is a tad daunting at first, but the best thing to do is dive right in and start pressing things! Isn’t that the golden rule for all new technology?
Another cool feature in ssLauncher are “parcels”. Parcels are Folders to you and I, that keep your applications separated logically (or however you wish to separate them!). The really cool feature on this is how you can access them once in their “parcel”.
Let’s start at the beginning shall we? On an “Applications” page the user can select a number of items that they wish to “parcel” up (folder). The parcel can be renamed and moved around the screen, and the contents are accessed primarily by clicking the parcel directly.

However for a really cool way to access the parcel contents, simply drag the contents from the parcel and scatter them across the screen!

So that’s just some of the things this launcher can do. It’s comparable to the big launchers in terms of fluidity, battery drain (although this one takes more of a hit whilst setting up), and general functionality, but can take a little while to get into if you want to create some lovely home screens. That’s the key. This gives the ability to create some pretty decent home screens over and above what you’d normally expect with a launcher. Off the top of my head, and coupling this with tools such as Tasker and Minimalistic Text, you could create some pretty awesome functioning home screens.
Overall it really does have some potential if you’re willing to put some time and effort in. In a short period of time I was able to add a font from my Windows machine to the device to change the top headings, add some invisible widgets, and some different themed icons to the contacts tray, so it’s certainly doable. However in order to create a work or art, a bit more effort would be required.
Pros:
  • Configurability beyond many other launchers
  • Font/Image replacement tools built in
  • Popup Widgets are uber-cool
Cons:
  • Not for people who want to pickup and go – requires time
  • Aligning widgets/shortcuts can be tricky
  • Could do with a post-install tutorial & more templates
In Summary:
It’s a brilliant launcher for those wishing to hone their creative skills and create artistic home screens. It has the performance of any other major launcher available, and the ability to try many of these features for free before purchasing a paid version is welcome. It’s a very strong addition to an already saturated market and for me sits quite happily up there with the best of them. Its unique selling point with reference to the customisation of it could equally be a down side to many. If you want a launcher to pickup and go, then there are better options. If you love tinkering and making sure you get absolutely every pixel just so, on your home screen, then ssLauncher is for you.
For me it gets a strong:

ssLauncher is available from the Google Play store in a Free version and also a Paid version priced at just £1.97
UPDATE: The developers have released an application called Popup Widget which takes the functionality found in ssLauncher, and deploys it as a stanbdalone application to be used on any/all launchers – now that’s great!
